Albuquerque local, Aaron Johnson came to me with a great little KZ440 project. He was looking for a classic “cafe” style build. He wanted fat tires, tighter design, and louder exhaust. At the same time he wanted the bike to maintain a solid presence. Starting out with a 1981 KZ440, I chopped the rear end and added a hoop. I made a custom seat pan and cleaned up the front end with a new head light and gauges. Amongst other subtle changes the fenders were chopped in order to bring the overall look together. This bike is a fun around town ripper, and draws its fair share of attention.
